In the first part of this article series, I talked about the three main threats to the data on your computer. I spoke about the need for a data backup solution that protects your data properly. In this article I will give an overview of the most common backup solution options available.
A simple backup solution
An easy way to backup your data is to save everything to CD. By burning have your important data to a CD-ROM, you can install another copy of yourData if something wrong with your computer. Burn your data on a CD-ROM provides rudimentary data protection. There are some problems with this approach, however.

This option protects you against potential theft and it is an off-site option to protect you from fire. The only way to endanger your data theft could if your computer is not password protected by default and you save all your passwords automatically in yourApplications. If this is the case, someone who has physical access to your computer could certainly gains access to your data. This issue aside, saving files to a web server is certainly an option.
The limitation to this data backup solution usually revolves around the cost of the web server storage. While in general, the costs for up to 2 GB of data effectively, it is not appropriate for the backup an entire hard drive worth of data.
In House Hardware DataBackup Solutions
Another data backup solution is to equip their computers with RAID compatible motherboards and install multiple hard drives in every computer. This option protects your computer from the hard drive crashes. It will normally require the services of a computer hardware technician to setup. Done properly, it can fairly protect you from all hardware failure type of data loss.

This option, however, keep in mind with that, if the data is encrypted on your end, an administrator of the web server may have access to all your data.
Finally, along with burning a CD with an off-site Web server, get a qualified computer technician to install systems to a RAID system in your computer. If the cost is an issue that at least one computer with a RAID-enabled hard disk installed and at least one otherHard drive.
Using these three data backup solutions, you have to minimize the risk to your data and your livelihood.
